from selling any Quantitys of strong liquors to the Indians
and to prevent spreading of false rumours mutiny and Differ-
ences betwixt them and her Majestys Subjects of this Province

read in their House the fourth time Which being again read
at this Board was Endorsed Will pass and sent to the House
of Delegates by Col Addison and Col Tilghman
Mr Leech and five other Delegates brought up the follow-
ing message Viz.

By the House of Delegates
November 13th 1712

This House have appointed Mr John Leech Mr Joseph Hill
Mr Edward Scott Mr Thomas Trueman Greenfield Mr Wool-
ford and Mr Amos Garrett to join with some of the members
of her Majestys honble Council in proportioning the publick
Levy

Mr Tyler and seven more Delegates bring from their House
Viz
By the House of Delegates
November the 13th 1712

This House are surprised your Honours should reject the
Bill permitting the Inhabitants of this Province to take out
Writts and confess Iudgements in their proper Persons. We
are of opinion It will prevent great oppressions And we con-
ceive we can give your Honours Satisfactory Reasons for our
insisting on that Bill And therefore pray your Honours will
confer with us concerning the same

Which being read and debated resolved by this Board that
they will not recede from their resolution to reject the said
Bill and therefore the following Message was sent to the Dele-
gates by the honble Saml Young Esqr Col Addison Col Tilgh-
man and Capt Dorsey

By the Council in Assembly
November 13th 1712

In answer to your Message this Day by Mr Tyler and Seven
others of your House we have debated the same and resolved
that we will not recede from our former Resolution already
signifyed to you to reject the Bill you have desired a Con-
ference upon
