other place of less Benefitt to the Crown of Great Brittain and
others whose Lives and Fortunes have been made desperate
by their unhappy Losses and decay of Trade during the War
will return to the same Way of living they used before the
making the said Act by Skulking in the Woods and riding
armed to resist the Officers of Justice and thereby greatly
disturb the peace and Tranquillity of this Province
In tender compassion whereof we desire your Honour's
most favourable and timely Answer which will not only pre-
vent the afd evil Consequences but also a very great Burthen
and Charge to the Province in General

being read at the Board with a Proviso annexed thereto
Resolved that the said Bill pass without the sd annexed Pro-
viso and being so Endorsed was sent down to the House by
Col Addison

The Ordinance proposed by the House of Delegates for
quieting and Settling the differences and Disputes amongst the
Inhabitants of Baltimore County being read at the Board was by
them assented to and Sent down to the House by John Hall Esqr
The Address from the House of Delegates to the Honble
President being read and debated at the Board and the mem-
bers of her Majesty's honble Council being severally asked
their opinions Whether in Case the Law prayed by the Dele-
gates should not now be revised It would be attended with
the unhappy Consequences mentioned in the said Address,
Do severally say that the Circumstances of the Country are
so miserably wretched and very much augmented by severe
prosecutions in the provincial Court which have so inflamed
the People that they are apprehensive the refusal thereof may
endanger the peace and Tranquillity of the Province and incite
several of her Majestys Subjects to extravagant and desperate
Courses.
