An Act laying Imposition on Several Commoditys Exported
Came Mr Coursey Mr Thos Frisby and Mr John Jones and
brought up the following Bills
A Bill imposing 3d p Gallon on Rum & Wine 20 sh p poll
Negroes and twenty shill p poll on Irish Servts for defraying
the publick Charge
A Bill for recording Laws &c.
A Bill prohibiting Liquors to be carryed to Indian Towns &c.
A Bill for taking Special Bayle &c.
A Bill for marking High Ways &c.
A Bill Confirming the Last Will and Testament of Charles
Ashcombe of Saint Maries County Gent. decd John Whinfel
and John Burnam decd
A Bill for settling Lands on Susannah Blaney &c.
A Bill for the better Administration of Justice in the County
Courts
A Bill for relief of Creditors in England agt Bankrupts
A Bill for securing Merchants and other's tobacco after
received
Which were read and with the others brought up by Mr
Muschamp assented to by the Council and sent to the House
by Col Lloyd and Mr Sanders.
Came Mr Coursey with the bill directing the Sherr. in their
office which was again read and sent to the house by Col
Lloyd and Mr Sanders
The Council adjourns 'till to morrow morning

Wednesday Sepr 27th 1704
Council Sate present as yesterday

Came Mr Samuel Young Mr Robert Tyler and Mr Joseph
Ennalls and brought the following Message

By the House of Delegates Sepr 27. 1704.

Proposed whether it may not be necessary for the ornament
of St Anne's Church in Annapolis that the Pews appointed for
the Delegates of Assembly may be built at the publick Charge
and that flag stone may be sent for out of England to lay the
alleys

Therefore resolved by the House that the Ground assigned
for the Gentlemen of the Assembly in the said Church be
built with decent pewes as his Excy the Governour shall please
to direct and shall be paid for out of the publick Treasure also
that Mr Samuel Young Treasurer for the Western Shoar send
