will give such Instructions to the Comittee for laying the pub-
liq Levy that they may allow the sd Coll Blakiston Sallary of
120l more wch will be due for his Agency 1 7th of 7ber next
ensuing
Which Memoriall being read at the Board his Exncy & the
Councill recomend it to the house of Dell to take effectuall
Care therein The sd Coll Blakiston being imployed in buying
& sending in the Arms & Ammunition for this pvince & other
materiall things for the Service thereof.

Wch was sent to the house by Coll Lloyd & Mr Coursey
Mr Fowke brings from the house the following answer to
the Message concerning gratifications made to persons im-
ployed in the publiq Service viz'

Vizt By the house of Delegates
Aprill 18th, 1706

Upon reading this Message It is resolved Mr John Hall be
allow'd now for those Services six hundred pounds tobacco &
twenty shillings to the Indian that was with him
Signed p order W Taylard Cl h Dell

Mr Jones brings from the House a Bill for Erecting a Parish
on the North side of Elke River which was read & assented
to & sent to the house by Mr Sanders
Came Mr Tyler & Mr Mackall & bring up a Bill prohibiting
the Exportation of European Comoditys out of this Province
wch was read & Assented to & sent with the former by Mr
Sanders
Mr Dollahide brings from the house a bill for Encouraging
the making Hemp & Flax & that for suspending the Prosecu-
tion of Romish Priests &c both which were read & assented to
& return'd to the house together with the two former by Mr
Sanders.
The Bill ascertaining the Damage on protested bills of Ex-
change being read at the board It is Remarked that the bill
is so clogg'd in Sevll Clauses that it will be complained of as

most unjust & unreasonable and particularly In the first
place the bill is not according to what was concerted at the
Conference for that it was only intended that Persons already
indebted should not be compell'd to give fresh bills of Exchange
under 90 Days Sight but is Detrimentall to trade in that it
Enacts psons both able & willing upon new Contracts shall
not give bills of less than 90 Days sight.
2dly All Persons having protested bills already returnd
upon which perhaps they have laid out of their monyes for
