At a Session of Assembly begun and held at the Town
and Port of Annapolis in Ann Arundell County the fifteenth
of May 1705 and in the fourth Year of her Majesty's
Reigne &c :
Were enacted the Laws following
An Act for the Relief of Ann Arundell County and all Per-
sons concerned in the Records thereof lately burn'd.
Whereas the Records of Ann Arundell County being
lodged in One of the upper rooms of the Publick Court
house at Annapolis upon the eighteenth day of October
Seventeen hundred and four were burned with the said house
to the great loss and detriment of the Inhabitants of the said
County and all Other Persons concerned in the Lands Judg-
ments and Records in of and belonging thereunto.
For the redress and relief whereof it is humbly prayed that
it may be Enacted and be it Enacted by the Queens most
Excellent Majesty by and with the Advice and consent of her
Majesties Governour Councill and Assembly of this Province
and the Authority of the same that it shall and may be Law-
full to his Excellency her Majesties Governour of this Province
for the time being by comission under the great Seal of this
Province to Authorize Appoint and Commissionate Seven or
more discreet and Sober Persons whereof any three or more
of them from time to time to hear and determine all differ-
ences claimes and Demands whatsoever between any the
Inhabitants or Other Psons interested in the Lands lying
within the County afd at Such places within the said County
as they or any three or more of them shall think fitt from
time to time with or without any Adjournment Summarily
and without the formality and Proceedings in Courts of Law
