since that you have not thought fit to Advise how the said
Celey should be disposed of his Excellency is not inclinable
otherwise than according to the Sentence pronounced against
him which will be executed on Friday next.

The aforegoing Message from the Honble Council being
here read this House took it into their serious Consideration
and ordered that the same be answered by the Message fol-
lowing Viz.
By the House of Del. 23d May 1705
By the Debates of our House relating to Benjamin Celey
the Prisoner we did not intend to put his Excellency in Mind
of what he might do ; but only asserted the Royal Prerogative
but if the bringing in of a Bill to transport him or any other
Thing which may save his Life may be thought necessary if
you please to signifie it to us this House will very readily
concur with your Honours in any such Proposal we being very
desirous that his Life may be saved.

Which being read was well approved of by the House and
ordered it be sent up to the Council p Mr Robert Tyler, Mr
Joseph Hill, Mr John Mackall, & Mr John Wells. They with-
drew ; and the House adjourned till to Morrow Morning seven
O'Clock.
May 24th 1705
The House according to Adjournment again met and being
called over were all present as Yesterday
Mr Tyler, Mr Hill, Mr Mackall & Mr Wells sent up with the
Message last Night enter the House & say they delivered the
Message given them last Night.
Bill for Sale of a Parcel of Land called Richardson's Choice
for Payment of a Debt due to John Nicholls, read the second
Time & committed for Amendmt
Bill for raising an Impost of six Pence p Hhd brought by
Order of the House and was read the first & second Time &
do pass. And sent up to his Excellency by Mr John Contee,
Mr John Waters, Mr George Muschamp, Mr Francis Dallahyde
& Mr Joseph Hill, Mr John Wells, Mr Thomas Frisby, Major
John Taylor & Mr Robert Tyler.
They return & say they delivered the same.
