Proposed whether it be not absolutely necessary to advance :
an additional Duty of Six Pence p Hhd to help defray the
Charge of building the Provincial Court House being a former
vote reassumed ?
Put to the Vote whether a Bill shall be brought in for that
Purpose or not
Carryed by a Majority of Votes that a Bill be brought in
for that Purpose.
The Bill to confirm William Josephs Lre of Attorney to his
Son, sent up p Mr Thomas Frisby and Mr William Stone to
the Council for their Concurrence
They return and say they delivered their Bill
The Honble James Sanders Esqr from the Council enters
the House and delivers Mr Speaker the following Message Viz.

By his Excellency the Governor & Council
Die Saturni 19th May 1705.

Lib. 41.

We propose if your House think fit that the better prevent-
ing the Goal of Annapolis being at any Time for the future
broke or the Prisoners oversetting the Goaler that a small
strong Wooden Lodge be added to one of the Doors wherein
the Goaler may & shall be obliged to lye every Night & this
may be done at a small Charge not exceeding six Pounds
Sterling or fifteen hundred Pounds of Tobacco
Signed p Order W Bladen Cl. Council.

Which being read was ordered to be thus indorsed

By the House of Delegates May the 19th 1705

This House having debated the within Message think it
convenient that such an Addition be made to the Prison but
not at the Publick Charge.

The Petition of Colo William Holland read, and finding it is
a Matter relating to the Bounds of Land ; therefore it's referred
to Consideration of next Assembly.
William Holland Esq from the Honourable Council enters
the House and delivers Mr Speaker the following Message Viz.

By the Council in Assembly Die Saturni 19th May 1705

The several Articles with the Nations of Indians on the
Eastern Shore are herewith sent you for your Approbations
& Advice, what you think further proper to be added thereto
