whatsoever shall be Reasonably proposed to prevent Rebellions
and disturbances and to Settle and Establish Peace & Tran-
quillity which so much Concerns her Matys honr and Our own
good & welfare And in order thereunto wee are Resolved to
Enquire into the particulars of the Magazine how much Powder
& other Materials has been provided for the publiq use & to
Whom it has been delivered & how & what is become of it.
Sr Wee have allready had aboundent assurance of Yor Exncys
great Justice & Candour towards us but we begg leave to tell
you that you've created in us new Motives to thank you for the
Promise you've made to us that what is Separated for the publiq
use shall not be disposed of to any other use whatsoever and
we do heartily assure your Exncy that there shall not be any
thing wanting in us that may promote her Majesty's Honrs the
publiq peace and Tranquility of this her Matys Province & the
depression of Imorality & Vice whatsoever.

The said Gentn Bring with them likewise

By the House of Dellegates
May 18th 1705

Wee her Matys dutifull & Loyall Subjects the Representa-
tives of the Severall Countys within this her Matys Province of
Maryland Convened in a Genll Assembly do give your Exncy
our hearty thanks for the great Care that you have taken
Relating to the Indians and other Matters which so much
disturbed our Peace and Repose and we do Assure Your
Exncy that Your prudent Conduct therein has given us an entire
Satisfaction of Your goodness & Generosity towards us which
we hope you will upon all Occasions be pleased to Repeat

To which his Exncy was pleased to send the following Answer
by Mr Tench Mr Brooke Col Hamond Coll Lloyd Mr Sanders
& Coll Ennalls viz.

Gent. If I have or can do any thing for the Advantage and
wellfare of this her Matys province and the Safety and Pros-
perity of every Individual Member thereof Your kind Accep-
tance make the fullest Recompence Imaginable to yor Assured
Friend Jo: Seymour

Mr Taylard and Mr Walters bring from the house the petn of
Robin Indian with the Resolve of the house thereon Endorsed
as follows viz.
