Seven Doeskins he had for securing the paymt thereof pawned
to the said Taylor one Belt of Peak to the Value of fifty
Doeskins who has Converted it wholy to his own use tho the
said Indian had tendered him pay and refuses to pay to the
said Indian the forty three Doeskins due to the said Indian on
ballance
Ordered that Col Ennalls caution the said Taylor to comply
with the said Indian
His Excy was pleased to send the following Paragraph of a
Letter to him by Mr Smith and Col Hammond to the Speaker
of the House of Delegates according to the Desire of the
House vizt
September the 11th. 1704
Mr Speaker the Paragraph underwritten came in a Letter
to me from an Eminent Merchant in London dated the 6th oi
February 1703/4
Sir I must by the by hint of a Design New York hath oi
making all the Colonies Tributarys to them in order to Sup-
port or rather enrich them and they seem to push the thing
for the Half as to have a number to be chosen out of the
Northern and Southern Governments to represent these Colo-
nies and meet at New York instead of their own Assemblys
and to have one Vice Roy and General of all the forces of the
Continent and that of Virginia and Maryland &c to be de-
pendents under them a Project to this Effect is Lodged with
the Lords John Seymour
