throughout this Province shall be made in manner and forme
following (that is to say)
Maryland ss. Know all men by these presents That wee A.
B. &^caof the County of —— in the province aforesaid are holden
and firmly bound unto our Soveraign Lady Anne &c in the full
sume and Just quantity of — pounds of good sound Merchant-
able leaf Tobacco and Casq to be paid to her said Majesty her
heires and Successors To the which payment well and truly to
be made wee bind ourselves and either of us and either of our
heires Executors and Administrators Joyntly and severally for
the whole and in the whole firmly by these presents seald with
our Seals and dated the — day of — in the — year of her Majestys
reign Annoq Dmi &c.
The Condition of the above obligation is such that if the
above bounden A. B. do well and truly serve her said Majesty
her heires and Successors in the Office of High Sheriff of
the County of —— within the Province aforesaid And also shall
render unto her said Majesty and other her Officers a true
faithfull and perfect Account of all and singular her said Maj-
estys Rights and dues and to her Officers a true and Just account
of their ffees that he shall or may be entrusted with by her
Majestys Governour and other her Officers within this Province
to receive and collect and his Account to her said Majesty her
heires and Successors and to her and their Governour there
for the time being for the ffines and forfeitures & other dues
belonging to her said Majestys Governour As also his Acco^t
of all ffees dues and Summs of Money or Tobacco for levys

or ffees due to any her Majestys Officers & other good people
within this Province shall pass an Account of by the tenth day
of Aprill next ensuing the date hereof and in all other things
as Sheriff of the County of shall behave himself well and
honestly towards all persons according to the best of his power
skill and knowledge Then this obligation to be voyd and of no
Effect or else to stand in full force strength and vertue.
Which said bond taken in forme aforesaid if by the County
Court the Comissioners thereof shall transmitt the same into
the Secretarys Office together with all former Sheriffs bonds
by them taken and the said Comissioners are hereby required
and injoyn'd to take new security yearly and every year of
such Sheriffs so long as they shall continue in the said Office
having especiall regard not to admitt any person to be security
as aforesaid but such as are good and Substantiall ffreeholders
within their Countys and also to make the Obligation of such
bond so to be taken from any sheriff answerable to the publiq
charge of their respective Countys.
