All Which bills Were Endorsd, read & Assented to by the
house of Delegates And sent up to the Councill p Mr Henry
Coursey Mr Iames Hay & Mr Thoms Frisby.
They returne and say they deliverd the bills
The honob Iames Sanders Esqr enters the house and delivers
Mr Speaker the following bills Vizt.
Bill for Punishment of Blasphemy.
Bill requiring Mastrs of Shipps to publish their freight
Bill for Punishment of Adultery and fornication
Bill for Paymt of Criminalls fees
Severally thus Endorsd Vizt.
Read in Councill the 1st & 2d time and do pass for Engrossm'
W Bladen Cl Co.

Sent up to the Comittee of laws p Mr Goldsborough to be
Engrost
Alsoe A bill for directions of Sherrifis and payment of leavys
etc. Endorsed thus.
Eod Die. Read the first time in Councill And Approovd
of so farr as directing the Sherriffs office But as to paying the
leavys in money this house cannot consent to give the Sherriff
so Great An Advantage over the publiq officers & Credittors
As by the law seems to be Granted them
Signd p order W Bladen Cl Co.

Bill for restraining the Growth of popery &ca.
Read the 2d time and Orderd that there be A provision
made for the children of preists turning protestants And to
prohibitt All others from turning papists. Recomended to the
Comittee of laws to Add this Clause to the bill.
Bill for direction of Sherrifis & payment of leavys in money
&c.
Read the 1st time And here debated
The bill was Againe Sent up to the Councill p Mr Henry
Coursey who is orderd to desire the Councill to Explaine
What publiq Officers Are meant in the Endorsment of the bill.
The house Adjourns till to morrow morning 8 A Clock.
