The Gent Appointed by the house to Conferr About the bill
for regulating ordinarys eta enters the house and upon their
report the following message was ordered to be Sent up.

By the house of Delegates Sepr 20th 1704
The clause proposed by the Conferrees as it is made to take
place cannot brought in with good Sence as it is there Worded
but in reguard Wee perceive it is their Resolve that the bill
may pass in A peticonary maner Wee Are content it be soe,
And therefore wee propose that it runn thus
For better regulating ordinarys &ca For the future and in
pursuance of her Majtr Royall Instruccons for raising further
Supplys for defraying the publiq charge of this province To
effect which the Burgesses and Delegates of this present Genll
Assembly Doe humbly pray that her Majty will be gratiously
pleasd to grant that it may be Enacted And be it Enacted etc.

Coursey Mr George Muschamp and Mr Frisby.
They returne and delivers Mr Speaker the Bill for regulating
ordnary's &ca. Endorsd thus.

The report of the Conferrees upon this bill And the houses
Message thereupon haue been read And the latter is Agreed to

The Gent of the Conferrencc Appointed by his Excy the
Govr Councill and Assembly to enquire into the Agrievances
relating to the land Office & the Lord Baltemores Agents.
The conferrees having laid before them and read the mes-
sage of the house on this Subject And the order of his late
Majty in Councill in relation to the devision of the fees of that
office between my Lord Baltemore and Sr Thomas Lawrence
Barrentt Secry of Maryland doe reporte as follo
That it is Conceivd propper that An Act of Assembly or
ordinance be drawne up past And Assented to by his Excy the
Govr and Councill & Assembly that what ever Warrants for
the future be granted by his Lopps Officers And Assigned
either the whole or any parte thereof to any other persons that
on returne of the Certificate it Shall be lawfull for him or them
to demand A Grant thereof Notwithstanding the purchase
