98 Proceedings of the Council of Maryland, 1700.
Lib. X I do straightly prohibit all persons whatsoever within this Province from entertaining any of them in their houses or otherwise counselling aiding Concealing or assisting them in any manner whatsoever as they will answer the contrary at their peril & expect to be prosecuted unto the utmost severity of the Law and that all Persons may have due notice hereof I Command the several Sheriffs to make publick this my Proclamation Given under my hand & the Great Seal of this his Majstys Province the 15th day of January 1699 N Blakiston God save the King

A Proclamation
p. 256 Whereas the General Assembly of this Province was upon the 22d day of July last prorogued until the 28th of October Instant but forasmuch as no emergent affairs now happen whereby to occasion the meeting thereof at that time I have thought fit & do by & with the advice & Consent of his Majestys honble Council of this Province hereby further Prorogue the said General Assembly until the 9th day of February next ensuing & do Also Publish & give notice to the several Members of his Majestys honble Council as also of the house of Delegates that if it shall be thought advisa ble for his Majstys Service & the welfare of this Province that the Gen' Assembly should be convened & sit on the said 9th day of February they shall have notice given them by the Several & Respective Sheriffs of this Province who are hereby commanded to publish this my Proclamation Given under my hand & the Great Seal of this Province the 4th day of October in the 11th year of his Majestys Reign &Ca Annoq Dni 1699 God save the King N Blakiston

Whereas I have received his most sacred Majys repeated Commands to me by the honble Sr James Vernon Knight one of his Majestys principal Secretarys of State to prohibit any Correspondence to be had with or any Ammunition Arms or other necessary Supplies of Provisions to be carried to the p. 257 Scotch who have taken Possession of the Bay of Cairat near the Bay of Darien between Cartagena & Porto Bello & fortified themselves in violation of the treatys now subsisting between his Majesty & the Crown of Spain I do therefore by
