     Annapolis this 17th Day of February in the fifteenth Year of Lib. M.

     His Lordships the Ld Proprietarys Dominion &c Annoq Dni.

       At a Council held at the House of His Excellency the

     Governor in the City of Annapolis on Wednesday the 18th

     Day of February in the fifteenth Year of His Lordships Do

     minion &c Annoq Dni 1729

                   Present as Yesterday

       John Smith Carpenter produces an Acct to this Board, as

     follows

                       The Publick    Dr

                                        £  s.  d.

     To making 10 large Gun Carriages, & finding

      Plank & Diet at 40s p Carriage  20..00.. 0

     To making 4 Do less & finding Plank & Diet

      at 30s p Carriage                6..00.. 0

     To paid for drawing the sd Gunns to the Water

      Side at Eighteen pence p Ps      1..01.. o

     To fixing them & finding Posts at 12d0.. 14..     0

     To paid Mr Denton for a Barreil of Tarr to tarr

      them                             o..16.. o

                    Errors Excepted p  28.. 11.. o

       The Above Account being read & Considered of, It is the

     Opinion of this board that the Charges therein contained are

     too great for the Services done, and are of Opinion that the

     Sum of Twenty two pounds is a Sufficient Recompense for

     the Services abovementioned and laying Slabs of Timber

     under the Wheels of the Guns where they now stand

       John Smith being called in, is informed by His Excellency

     the Governor of the Resolution of this Board, who being

     contented therewith; Ordered that Coll Saml Young be

     directed to pay the said John Smith the same, which Order is

     directed to him in the following manner

    

    

                 By the Governor & Council

                      18th febry 1729

       You are hereby required to pay to John Smith or Order the

     Sum of Twenty Two pounds Currency out of the money
