       At a Council held in the Council Chamber at the City of Lib.

     Annapolis on Wednesday the 26th day of October in the 13th

     Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord King George in the

      11th Year of his Lordship the Lord Proprietarys dominion &c

     Annoq Dni 1726

                 Philip Lee Esqr

       The following Complaint made to Philemon Lloyd Esqr a

     Member of this Board by Robin chief of the River Indians

     was read vizt

    

    

       That the English Obstruct and Deprive them of Hunting

     Beavors and that Iohn Elliott tells the Indians that the Branch p. 158

     on which the Beaver damn is made is his land and therefore

     will not Suffer the Indians to hunt there for Beavor tho the

     Rent of their Lands is to be paid in Beavor Skins

       2dly That they are threatned and forewarned to Hunt in

     the Neck called Privey Neck and Cedar neck William Pepper

     in Ricey Neck John Collins Cesar Godin and Thomas Robin

     son in Cedar Neck threatning to beat them and break their

     Guns and Cesar Godin to make the Indians more Afraid

     beat one of the Young men with a Hicory Stick about two

     Years ago

       Indian George of the came Nation Complains that the last

     Summer a little before Cherry time he was met in Dorset

     County Forrest by one Iohn Howard who had several times

     threatned this Complaint that if he met him in those woods a

     hunting that he would beat him and break his Gun but at the

     time aforesaid finding he had three Green Skins on his Back he

     tax'd him with hunting in his woods Notwithstanding his pre-

     warning and then seiz'd his Gun and brake it broke his head

     knockt him down with it and left him for dead and that he lay

     ill of the wound 3 days at Lance Harwoods where he got

     with the Assistance of his wife who was in the woods with him

       Ordered that the Clerk of this Board make out Summons

     Directed to the Sheriffs of Somerset and Dorset Countys

     for the persons before mentioned as also for Philemon Le

     Compte and Isaac Nichols that they be and appear at the City

     of Annapolis at the next Session of Assembly that shall
