   with pursuant to the Direction of an Act of Assembly made       Lib. X.

   last session to encourage the takers of Runaway Slaves that

   shall be taken up by any person and brought in from the

   Back woods who are of Opinion that Mr John Powell of

   prince Georges County is a proper person to be entrusted

   with the same

     Ordered that the Clerk of this Board draw an Order on

   Samuel Young Esqr Treasurer of the Western Shore payable

   to the said Powell or Order for 30 l Currency and deliver the

   same to the said Powell with a Copy of the said Act

     His Excellency the Governor Acquaints this Board that his

   Lordship the Lord Proprietary has Commanded him to Ap

   point Nicholas Lowe Esqr his Lordships Agent A Member of        p. 146

   his Lordships honble Council

     Whereupon the said Nicholas Lowe Esqr being called in

   takes the several Oaths to'the Government appointed by Act

   of Assembly subscribes the Oath of Abjuration and Test and

   likewise takes the Oath of a Councillor and took his place at

   the Board accordingly

     Ordered that the Clerk of this Board draw an Order on

   Samuel Young Esqr payable to John Young for his years Sal

   lary due to him in January last

     Which was done accordingly

     At a Council held at the Council Chamber at the City of

   Annapolis on Saturday the 21st day of May in the twelfth year

   of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord King George and in the

   eleventh year of his Lordship the Lord Proprietarys Domin
