A Proclamation Whereas this present General Assembly stands prorogued to the third tuesday in Iune next being the 15th day of the same month and whereas there is no Business oi moment which Requires their attendance at that time I have therefore p. 135 thought fit with the advice of his Lordships Council of State further to Prorogue the same and I do hereby further pro rogue the same to the first of Iuly next and to the Intent that all persons Concern'd may have due Notice thereof I do strictly require and Command the several Sheriffs of this Province to make this my Proclamation publick in their respective Counties in the usual manner as they will Answer the Contrary at their Perill Given at Annapolis the 22d day of May in the tenth year of the Dominion of the right honble Charles Lord and Proprietary of the Provinces of Maryland and Avalon &c Annoq Dni 1725

The Governor is pleased to deliver himself to the Council as follows vizt Gentlemen Having the Honour to be appointed Lieut Governor of this province by our Lord proprietor with the Approbation of our p. 136 most Gracious Sovereign King George I think myself under an indispensable Obligation to maintain the Character Con- ferred on me and to resent to the utmost all Affronts that are Offered to it I must therefore lay before you a deposition concerning myself taken at the House of Mr Thomas Bordley near two years ago & Concealed from me till last February (when by Accident I found it out) by which it will Appear how
