Lib. x. several Lines in this province and threatned Several persons as appears by the proceedings of last Council to deprive them of their plantatns if they refused to submit to the Penn sylvania Government, and likewise that very lately they had taken up Mr Vanbebber the chief Iustice of Cecil County Court for no other Offence real or pretended than for running out some Lines in the wild forest, up and down the Branches of Apoquimineck Creek in order to discover the true Loca tion of Saint Augustines Mannors Western Limits and asking the opinion and advice of the Board thereon it is the opinion and advice of the Board that proclamation issue to warn the Inhabitants of Cecil County and others Concernd of the pre tensions and Incroachments aforesaid and that all persons Concernd take notice thereof at their perill

A Proclamation
Whereas at a Council held at Whitehall in London in the Reign of the late King James the Second it was ordered upon a supposition that the Tract of Land lying on the west Side of Deleware Bay had been inhabited and planted by Chris tians and Continued to be a distinct Colony from that of Maryland at and before the date of the Lord Baltimores pattent, that the tract of Land lying betwixt the River and Bay of Deleware and the eastern Sea on the one side and Cheso peak Bay on the other side should be divided into equal parts and that that part thereof lying towards Deleware Bay should belong unto his Majesty and that the other part lying on the west Side of a division Line drawn from the Latitude of Cape Henlopen unto the 40th degree of North Latitude should remain unto the Lord Baltimore as Comprized within his Charter as is expressly set forth in the Order of Council which for the greater Satisfaction of all persons whom it shall or may Concern is herewith made publick as followeth
