                  390 Proceedings of the Council of Maryland, 1722.

             

             Lib. X.    in the said Writs and that the Season of the year requires

                  that the members that Compose the same should attend their

                  own private Affairs which might suffer much in their absence

                  And that there will be a necessity of their meeting in three

             P. 46 or four months and because we are willing as much as in us

                  byes to save publick Charge which will be Greatly encreased

                  by the meeting of the Assembly at the time already mentioned

                  and for certain other Causes and Considerations us thereunto

                  moving we have thought with the advice of our Council to

                  prorogue this Assembly to the second Tuesday of October

                  next and by these presents we do prorogue the same Accord

                  ingly when and where we will and require that the several

                  members of the Upper and Lower Houses of Assembly meet

                  to Consent and Agree to those things which then and thereby

                  the favour of God shall happen to be Ordained and to the

                  end that all persons may have due and timely Notice hereof

                  we strictly Command Our Several Sheriffs within this pro

                  vince that they without delay publish this our writt in the

                  most publick places of their respective Counties whereof they

                  are not to fail at their perill In Testimony whereof we have

                  made this writ patent Witness our trusty and well Beloved

                  Charles Calvert Esqr our Captain General and Governor in

                  chief of our said Province and Territory of Maryland this

                  3d day of July in the seventh year of our dominion &c Annoq

                    Marcus Andrews having been committed by the Justices of

                  Somerset County to the Custody of Mr Robert Martin high

                  Sheriff of said County in Order to be brought before this

                  Board to be examined touching a Complaint made against

                  him for having sold or otherwise disposed of an Indian Boy a

                  Son of one of our Friend Indians appears and being examined

                  touching said Complaint confesses that an Indian Boy named
