     destinely altered as well in the Dates as otherwise wth may Lib. W. B.

     be very Prejudicial to the Trading Ships of Our Subjects:

     For Preventing whereof we have thought fit by the Advice of

     Our Privy Council to Publish this Our Royal Proclamation,

     hereby declaring tht all such Passes of the old forme which

     have been so Issued shall not continue in force longer than

     the thirtieth day of July next And we do hereby strictly

     Charge & Cofliand all our loving Subjects who are or shall

     be Possessed of any such passes that they do as soon as may

     be returne the same into the Office of Admiralty of Great

     Britain in order to their being Cancelled. And whereas

     Pursuant to the late Treaty with Argier it is absolutely neces

     sary tht all Ships and Vessels belonging to our loving Subjects

     of Great Britain and Ireland, as well as our Forreigne Govern

     ments and Plantations which shall have Occasion to trade to

     Portugal the Canaries Guinea the Indies into the Meditera

     nean or Else where in the way of the Cruizers of the afsd

     Governmt of Argier Shou'd be furnished with passes of the

     new Forme by or before the sd thirtieth day of July next left

     by their being met wth by the Ships of Argier unfunnished

     with such Passes they be brought up & the Ship and Goods

     Confiscated; We do hereby strictly charge and require the

     Owners and Masters of all Ships and Vessells of our loving

     Subjects trading as afsd to take particular Care that they do

     timely furnish themselves wth passes of the new forme accord

     ingly. Given at Our Court at St James's the fourth day of

     Octobr 1714 In the first year of Our Reigne.

      And for tht it is absolutely requisite tht his Majesties sd

     Proclamation should be Notifyed to all & Singular his Matys

     Subjects in this Province to the end they may be duly cau

     tioned to Comply wth his Majesties Commands and furnish p. 36

     themselves wth such passes I have with the Advice of his

     Majesties Council thought fit to Issue this my Proclamation

     Commanding and Enjoyning all persons whatever having in

     their Custody or Possession any such Passes of the old forme

     tht they forthwith send or bring them to me to be returned tb

     the Office of Admiralty in order to their being Cancelled And

     that such other Persons as shall designe any Voyage from

     this Province in the Way of the Algerines Provide themselves

     with such Passes wch may be had upon their application to

     and Certificate of any of the Collectors of his Majesties Cus

     toms in this Province a Considerable Number of the sd Passes

     being sent from the Admiralty Office & Lodged wth me to tht

     end and Purpose. Given at the City of Annapolis this thir

     teenth day of April in the first Year of the Reigne of Our sd

     Lord the King &c Annoq Dni 1715
