Whereas by an Act made in the Sixth Year of the Reigne Lib. W. B. of her late Majesty Queen Anne Intituled an Act for the Security of her Majesties Person and Govmt and of the Succession of the Crowne of Great Britain in the Protestant Line, It was Enacted that no Office Place or Imployment Civil or Military within the Kingdoms of Great Britain or Ireland Dominion of Wales Towne of Berwick upon Tweed p. 6 Isles of Jersey Guernsey Alderny and Sark or any of Her Majesties Plantations should become Void by reason of the Demise of Her sd late Majestie her Heirs or Successors Kings or Queens of the Realme, but that every Person & Persons in any of the Places Offices and Imployments afsd should continue in their respective Offices Places and Imploy ments afsd for the Space of Six Months next after such Death or Demise, unless sooner removed and discharged by the next Successor to whome the Imperial Crowne of this Realme was Limited and appointed to go remain and descend; And that all Officers in any offices places or Employments who should be by that Act continued should take the Oaths therein mentioned, And do all other Acts requisite by the Law of this Realme to quallifie themselves to be and continue in such their respective Places Offices and Employments within such Tyme and in such manner and under such Pains Penalties and Disabilitys as they should or ought to do had they been newly Elected, appointed Constituted and put into such Offices Places or Employments in the usual and ordinary way Bee therefore wth the advice of His Majesties most honble Privy Council do Hereby Direct and Command tht all Persons who at the tyme of the Decease of the sd late Queen were duly and lawfully Possess'd of or invested in any Place or Employ ment Civil or Military within the Kingdoms of Great Britain or Ireland Dominion of Wales Towne of Berwick upon Tweed p. 7 Isles of Jersey Guernsey Alderney and Sarke or any his Matys Plantations do Wth the first opportunity take the respec tive Oaths of Office and all other Oaths as required by the sd Act, And in the meantime do not faile every one severally according to his Place Office or Charge to proceed in the Performance and Execution of all Duties belonging to their respective Offices And we do hereby require & comand all his Matys Subjects to be aiding helping & Assisting at the Comandment of the sd Officers & Ministers in the per formance and execution of their respective Offices and Places as they and every of them tender his Majesties utmost Dis pleasure and will answer the Contrary at their Perill Given at the Court at St James's the fifth day of August 1714 In the first Year of Our Reign. God Save the King.
