                   Trusty and welbeloved, Wee Greet you well. Whereas

                 Wee are well Satisfyed of the Loyalty Integrity and Ability

                 of our Trusty and weilbeloved Colonel John Contee of

                 Charles County Esqr Wee have therefore thought fit hereby

                 to signify Our Will and Pleasure to you that forthwith upon

                 Receipt hereof you swear and admit him the said John Con-

                 tee to be one of our Council in our Province of Maryland

                 and for so Doing this shall be your Warrant and so Wee Bid

                 you Farewell Given at our Court at Kensington the Three

                 & Twentieth of ffebruary 1707/8 in the sixth year of our

                 Reign

                 Councill in our Province of Maryland, and for so Doing this

                 shall be your Warrant, and so Wee Bid you Farewell

                 Council in our Province of Maryland in the Room of James

                 Sanders Esqr Deceased, and for so Doing this shall be your

                 Warrant and so Wee Bid you [Farewell. Given] at our Court
