146 Proceedings of the Council of Maryland, 1702/3.
Lib. X. given to Capt Bostock to return to this Government to Careene his Ship here & then desired the President & Council so soon as the Ship here could be got ready to Join the Ships there bound for England the said Captain Bostock with her Majestys Advice Boat Eagle might be sent down to Virginia for her Majestys Service in that Colony p. 320 Ordered that the Marshall or Water Bailiff do go On Board her Majestys Advice Boat Eagle now riding at the mouth of Severn River and serve or Deliver the following Order upon or to Mr John Symon the Carpenter & principal warrant Officer & other Officers on board her Majestys Eagle Advice Boat during the Suspension of Capt Nath Bostock vizt
By the honble the President & her Majstys Council
You are hereby in her Majestys name required & Com manded upon receipt hereof to bring before my self & Council at the house of Mr John Freeman in the Town & Port of Annapolis Capt Nath Bostock lately committed to your Custody that he may answer to what shall be Objected against him on her Majestys Behalf & be dealt with according to Law further you are also in her said Majestys name commanded & required to bring on Shoar with you before my self & her Majestys honble Council at the place aforesaid
Wallace Mate of the said Eagle Advice Boat and the two men lately impressed from on Board the Ship owners ad venture James Mitchell Master to be examined at the Council Board on her Majesties Behalf hereof fail not at your Perill Given under our hands & Seals this 14th day of April in the Second year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lady Ann by the Grace of God of Scotland France & Ireland Queen Defender of the Faith. p. 321 The afore Order was delivered to the Marshall who came and made return upon Oath to the Board that he went with his Boat within twenty or thirty yards of the Eagle Advice Boat and Captain Bostock being upon the Quarter Deck held out his cane & bad them stand of & asked what Business they had whereupon they told him they had an Order from the Council to deliver to Mr Symons then he said they might come on Board whereupon the said Marshal said he had an Order to deliver to John Symons the Carpenter & asked for
