had to Communicate to thm and what they Acted in that be- Lib. H. D. halfe should be Confirmed by himselfe. Then we Acquainted them that we were very Glad to see them here and that if their King together with the other Kings had Come to us should have been kindly received and Enterteined by us which they took Kindly of us. 1st We proceeded to acquaint them that the reason of our Coming and Calling of them here was to ratify and Confirme the Treaty of friendship they have aliready Entred into with us and Severall other Articles herewith Sent which being Consented and Signed by the Severall Nations we gave them 9 Matchcoats and 40 yards of Printed Dimity Equally distributed Amongst them the more firmly to Oblige thm and win them to the Stricter performance of their Articles now made ratifyed & Confirmed by them. further we Enquired of them whether any their Neighbour ing Indians are desireous of Entring into friendship or Amity with us, the Said Indians Answered att present they were not any as they knew of, and so we Concluded with the Indians and Drunk the Kings health Dated att John Hans this 29th day of August 1700 postscript Signed by us The Indians in token of their James Frisby Sincere Affection presented this John Thomps Governmt with 15 undrest Dear Edward Blay Skinns and are left with John Hans for him to bring down to his Excy the Governor
Articles and Proposalls offered by us to the three Severall p. 172 Nations Vizt Susquehannahs Shavanolls and Delaware In dians Vizt 1st Whether they are willing still to Confirme that former peace and Amity made with us, to the which they Answered that they were all very willing to Consent unto and in Gen erall desiring the Amity and Peace with them and this Province may stand firme Good & Inviolable for ever. 2dIy Whether they are willing that if any of their Indians should Comitt any Injuries upon the Inhabitants of this Province that they would be Answerable for them, To the Second they replyed that it is Iust and reasonable they should be Accountable. 3dly Whether they are willing upon any hurt or Damage Comitted or Acted by any of the Neighbouring Indians to any person of this Governmt to aid Assist and help us. To this they Answered that they not onely would be willing but also pursue and take (if possibly) them or any of them
