382 Assembly Proceedings, April 26-May 3, 1704.

P. R. O.

Mr Philemon Loyd, Mr Richd Tilghman & W John Salter
are appointed by the house a committee of Laws
Collonell Thomas Smith, Mr Robert Bradly & mr John Smith
are appointed a Committee for inspecting regulateing and
stateing the publick accounts of this Province
Mr William Harris, Mr Phitt Lynes, and Majr Charles Green-
berry, appointed a committee of aggrievances
The petn of Catherine Alderne, on behalfe of her daughter
Susannah Blangy was here read, & the house gaue leaue that
a bill be brought into the next Sessions of Assembly, and that
Summons be sent to the heirs of Alderne to appeare the next
Assembly to make theire clayme if any
The house adjournes till 2 a clock in the afternoone

Post Meridiem

The house mett, were called over, and prsent as in the
morning (onely mr Thomas Beall Sick)
Bill impowering Millburnes Exrs to sell land for payment of
his Debts.
Read the 2d tyme, and doe pass
Ordered the Severall Committees goe out upon theire busi-
ness
Motion being made to the house that some measures be
taken for conversion of the Indians in the Province is referred
to be considered, and resolved on tomorrow morning

Moved by a member that measures may be taken to Sup-
press Popish Priests, and others from Endeavouring pverting
her Matys Subjects, and Draweing them over to the church of
Rome
Message by the honble Robert Smith and James Saunders
Esqrs, and alsoe a bill for settleing a Revenue of 3d p hhd
Proposed that care be taken to obliedge the inhabitants of
this Province, and theire familyes on the Sabbath dayes either
to goe to some publick place of Devotion, or to Stay att home
Employing themselues in reading good bookes &c.
Moved that an Explanatory Law be made for the use of
Tobo raised or to be raised, in the Sevll parishes, where there
is no Minister inducted
All wch is referred to be considered of in the morneing
Ordered that Mr Wm Parker goe, and aquaint Mr Henry
Lowe, that the house commands his imediate attendance
Mr Parker enters the house, and sayes he has been wth the
said Low whoe refused to giue his attendance
Therefore ordered the Serjeant attendant goe imediately
and bring the said Henry Lowe before this house to answer
his contempt
