Whereas the Genll Assembly of this Province was on the

Journal.

22d Day of July in the Eleventh Year of the Reign of our
Soveraign Lord William the third by the Grace of God of
England Scotland France and Ireland King Defender of the
Faith &c. Annoqt Dni 1699 by his Exncy Nathaniel Blakiston
Esqr Capt Genll & Governr in Chiefe of this his Matys Province
of Maryland Prorogued untill the 28th Day of October next
ensuing and from thence untill the thirteenth Day of Febry fol-
lowing and likewise further untill the 26th Instant Att which
tyme they were Sumoned to convene themselves together at
the Town & Port of Annapolis then & there to do and Con-
sent to Such things as should happen to be enacted for the
honour and Glory of God his Matys Service & the Welfare of
this Province. According whereto Came of his Majesty's
honble Council

ordered to give his Attendance on this Board
Came his Exncy Nathaniel Blakiston Esqr his Majtys Capt
Genll & Governt in Chiefe of this his Province of Maryland
And was pleased to tell the Gentn of his Matys honble Councill
That whereas by his Matys Royal Instructions he is directed
to advise and consult with them in all things relating to his


Matys Service and the good Governmt of the Province And
finding them allways very ready to assist him therein (for which
he gave them many thanks) He thought it necessary to ac-
quaint them with what he intended to Say to the Assembly
now mett To the End that if the Same were not Sufficient
they would advise Somewhat further to be added or if more
than needfull they would say wherein that it might be re-
trenched, And thereupon produced to them in writing what
he intended to offer to the Assembly. Which being considred
was very well approved of by this Board.
Then was produced and layd before the Board his most
Sacred Matys Ordr in Councill of the 30th of November 1699
