This Board adjourned untill 9 of the Clock to morrow
morning

Thursday May the 9th 1700.

The Councill in Assembly Sate Prsent as yesterday with the
Addition of Colonel Jowles.
The petition of Major William Barton high Sherriffe of
Prince George County read Signifying that Whereas he had
an unknowne Indian committed to his Custody by Virtue of
a Warr' from one of his Majtys Justices of the Peace of that
County he had appled himselfe to the house of Delegates

craving allowance for the Imprisonmt Fees which they utterly
refused: He therefor prays to be relieved therein.
Ordered the Said Petition be thus Endorsed
Recomended to the house that they will again take into
Consideration the Petition, for that it appears the said Indian
was legally comitted to the said Major Bartons Custody, and
he could not refuse taking Care of him.
It being moved at the Board whether it be expedient this
Genll Assembly after the End of three years should be dis-
solved or longer continued, Advised that they be dissolved
for the Generall Satisfaction of the Country.
Lt Colonel Ennalls & Major Walter Smith bring from the
house The Bill for Speedy Tryall of Criminalls &c.
The Bill Establishing & making valid the last Will &
Testamt of James Tyer.
The Bill for the present security of the Frontier Plantations
from the Incursions & Violence of Indians &c.
A Bill for naturalization of Michael Bellican & others &c.
A Bill repealing certain Laws and confirming others which
were Assented to by the Boarde and returned to the house
by Mr Smith & Col: Hamond.
Lt Col: Smith & Colonel Thompson bring the Journall of
the Comittee of Accounts.
Resolved & advised that when the Assembly is prorogued
it be only from two months to two months
The Journal of the Comittee of Accts read and Assented to.
