Journal.

Complyance with his Matys Lre. for his reguards to this prov-
ince have been very perticular and he is now about giveing me
a further Testimony of it by takeing us in his more imediate
protexion by Act of Parliamt
As for the danger of the comon enemy that seems to threat-
en us Providence has been Liberall in blessing us with a prince
that will vigourously in his owne prson defend us and not ap-
peare at the head of his Army by Proxey as most other princes
doe.

Gent:
I have now been three yeares among you and must with
great Satisfaction owne the good concord wee have had, and
and if I have at any time departed from that Justice. Honour
and Integrity incumbent on me pray vpraide me with it that I
may avoid it for the future for I have examined myselfe and
am not in the least concious that I have been ever wanting in
my constant endeavours of an vnbiassed pursuite of the true
Interests of his Majtys and the Inhabitants of this province
What other things I hold myselfe enjoyned to consult you
in shalbe done by way of Messuage as usuall and is referred
till to morrow morning
Which said Speech being ended Mr Speaker and the rest of
the members returne to the house and Mr Speaker tooke the
chaire.
Resolved that the former Rules of this house be observed
and kept dureing this Sessions
The house adjournes till to morrow morning Seaven a Clock

Dies Martis March 17th 1701/2

The House mett againe and were called over
Present as Yesterday His Excy Speech being read.
Ordered the same be read againe in a full house
It being moved in the house that Whereas Kent County
Court is neere at hand and forasmuch as there are not suf-
ficient Justices in the County to hold a Court unless a member
of this house one of the Justices of the said Court be permit-
ted to goe into the said County to supply that defect,
It is thereupon Resolved that a bill be prepared for adjourn-
ment of the said County Court till the first Tuesday in Aprill
next and that the same be recommended to the Comee of
Lawes for that purpose
It being mooved by a member the great hardships of the
publick officers for not recovering their fees in due time for
want of regulateing the Law Therefore resolved that Mr Ken:
Cheseldyne, Mr William Hutchison and Mr Richard Tilghman
