times wholy miscarry for want thereof wherefore in regard
our present Governeur is now Shortly intended for England
of whose provident Care for the Interest of this Province we
have all possible assurance & is willing to take that trouble
upon him, proposing for one years Time to bestow his ap-
plication therein Gratis for the good will he has for the Coun-
try and afterwards at the rate of 120lb p annum; or if you
think that too much upon such terms as your selves shall
judge fit, and to Continue in such Agency until the Assembly
shall by their Letter signify that they have no longer occasion
to make use of him. We do desire the House will Consider
of what advantage his said Excellency's application may be
to us and accept of the said offer

Gentlemen
I now return you my uttmost Acknowledgments for your
generous Donation beyond my hopes much more my good
Intentions of serving you are encouraged and the Favour is
doubled by doing it at a Time when I am going to leave you,
and believe me I am not linked to your Service by Interest

but by Sincerity and a train of obligations
What the Gentlemen of his Majesty's Council have offered
to your Considerations about an Agent I am ready to give
you my Service for the first year Gratis and if you think what
they have proposed to exceed your Inclinations you shall make
your own Terms for I am very ambitious to approve myself
Gent.

Proposed that the intended Address to his Majesty be sent
down to the House with the following Message viz.

By the Governeur and Council in Assembly
March 24th 1701/2
Gentlemen
The Address herewith sent is proposed for your House to
join in, to his Majesty, if you shall think fit, with his Excellency
& the members of this Board by which no other matter of Im-
port will impede the concluding of this Sessions
