Gentlemen
I take your sentiments of me with great Satisfaction and
shall look upon it as one of the happinesses of my Life, you
approve of my Conduct amongst you, and when in England,
will with the Blessing of God, as often as it lies in my Power,
assert the true Interest of this Province to the utmost ability
....... that is within the reach of him that is with all
obligation

Came Capt Benjamin Hall and Mr Philemon Lloyd and
bring from the House a Bill prohibiting the abuses committed
by wood Rangers which was read at the Board & Endorsed
thus
It being thought reasonable that the Rangers at present
commissionated by his Excellency should have notice of it
to qualify themselves according to it This Board do agree the
Bill should pass provided the time for its being in force should

be extended to the last day of July next at which time the
Rangers are usually commissionated by his Excellency having
given Security for their good Behaviour his Excellency upon
any Complaints is willing to assign the Bonds or otherwise
if the House desire it to call in those Commissions
Came George Plater Esqr his Majesty's Receiver of the
District of Patuxent his Excellency was pleased to tell him
that in regard he was his Majesty's Receiver of the said Dis-
trict he is not willing to stand longer Charged with the 3d p
Hhd which his Excellency received from Governeur Nicholson
viz. ,£75..00..00 and from the said Mr Plater in the year 1699,
£240.. 14..s 1 1/2d in all £315.. 14..s 1 1/2d which his Excellency
desires to be discharged from and thereupon Exhibited the
Account thereof which was perused by the Board and payed
the said Mr Plater the Ballance being £ 113... 3.. 1/2 and the said
Mr Plater owned that his Excellcy had never received any other
of the King's mony during his Government
The Board adjourned 'till 8 of the Clock on Monday Morning.
