Original
Journal.

sider the great Revenue his Majesty's Clemency has still al-
lowed afforded his Lordships out of this Province and how lit-
tle it Cost him and his Father in Seating the same
It being chiefly peopled at first by impeopling their Majesty's
Colony of Virginia invited in hither with their Familys &
Estates by a Snare, fertile Soil and the specious Pretence of
Liberty of Conscience
His Excellency acquaints the Board that there were two
Runaway Servants belonging to one Mr Tellett & Mr Syncock
Inhabitants in his Majesty's Colony of Virginia committed to
the Custody of Mr John Carville Sheriff of St Mary's County
whereof one escaped from said Mr Carvill by his negligence
and the other he had compelled to work whilst in his Custody
The said Mr Carvill being called in alledged that he had
no great Service from the Serv' that was now in his Custody
he having had an Ague for a long Time

Whereupon this Board being desirous to approve them-
selves good Neighbours to the Colony of Virginia in Shew-
ing their readiness to do them Justice upon any application
do not think it reasonable the Said Sheriff Should have 20 lb
Tobo p Diem for the Confinement of Mr Telletts Servant in
respect he employed him great Part of the time in his own
Service
Whereupon the said Mr Carvill Submitting himself to the
determination of his Excellcy and this Board they do think
that the Sum of 100 lb. Tobacco is Sufficient to Satisfy the
said Mr Carvill for his securing Mr Tellett's Servant.
As for Mr Sincock's he being escaped this board at present
do not think fitt ..... to intermeddle therewith.
Came Mr Benjamin Hall and Mr Philemon Loyd and Mr
Eccleston from the House and bring up

A Bill for the relief of Kent and Calvert Countys also A
Bill confirming a certain writing to be the last Will and Testa-
ment of Edwd Mann late of Talbott County gent, deceased

now under the Command of Capt Briscoe laden with Tobo &
