his Excellency was pleased to say
Gentlemen
I have never convened you oftner than the immediate Affairs
of the Province have required, and that not more than once a
year;
Neither should I have called you now so early in the Spring
but that some Concerns of Moment require your Concurrence
The Law for Establishing religious worship in this Province
according to the Church of England which you made last &
sent home is now returned by his Majesty for your Assent,
You'll find the Alterations, that are made but very little, and
that such Visible Amendments to our Advantage being cor-
rected by so wise an Hand. We ought to be proud of the
pattern in confirming it. If I mistake not your Journalls of
Assembly will make it appear that this Way was humbly re-
quested by yourselves in an Address to his Majesty that he
would be pleased to order it to be drawn as he should judge
fit and to be remitted to you for your Concurrence, and there-
fore since this Law was so unanimously made by you I have
