from him, by the meanes of Henry Darnall and Nicholas Sea- P. R. O. well two of the Judges there and he wrongfully imprisoned and abused to his very great damage & impoverishment as by the annexed case does now fully appeare. And forasmuch as yr Petr in his way for England was taken by the French that he could not before have made his address to your sacred Majestie for reliefe. Hee therefore humbly prays yr Maj: will be graciously pleased to grant him an Order, that Sir Tho: Lawrence, Col: Henry Goales, Capt: J. Davis & Mr Tho: Smithson may have liberty that all Atto'ns Records may be produced that have been agst yr PetT since the yeare 1685, & that he may have a faire rehearing before Col: Fran: Nicholson the now appointed Govr for yr Majs Province of Maryland as well in the Prov” Courte as in Talbot Country Courte & that he may have lib erty to prosecute the sd Seawell & Darrell for the losses & damages in this behalfe most wrongfully susteyned as yr Maj: in yr greate wisdome & justice shall seem meete & yr Petr shall pray &c. At the Court at Whitehall the 22nd January 1693. By the Lords of their Majesties most Honble Privy Councill Upon reading the annexed Petition of Richard Rawstone late Deputy Collector of the Eastern Shore in Mariland com plaining of several injuries done him by Henry Darnell and Nicholas Seawell two of the Judges in Mariland, and praying to be relieved. It is this day ordered in Councill that it be and it is hereby referred to the Right Honble the Lords of the Committee of Trade and Plantations to examine the matter of the said Petition, and to report to this Board what their Lord ships conceive fitt for His Majestie do thereine Richard Colings
