Maryland Ss Francis Nicholson Esqr Capt gen” and Govr in Chiefe in and Over his Matys Province of Maryland And territoryes thereto belonging and Vice Admirall of the Same To George Plater Esqr Greeting Haveing Speciall trust and Confidence in your fidelity Integrity Knowledge and Circumspection I do hereby Nomi nate appoint and Constitute you the sd George Plater to be Navll Officer of the Porte of Putuxent within this his Matyes Province of Maryland hereby giveing and granting unto you the sd George Plater full power And Authority to Act do pforme & Execute All and Singular the Lawfull Powers and Authorityes and other things wtsoever incident to the sd Office of Navll Officer And to take and receive to your Own proper use & benefitt all such Law full ffees pquisites and Advantages as to the sd Office do in any wise Appurteine To have & to hould the Same dureing pleasure Given Att the Town and Port of Annapolis under my hand and Scale this the 22th day of October in the 10th year of the reigne of our Sovreigne Ld King William the 3d of England &c.
