Produced and read some former proceedings in Council in this Providence of the 29th of Iune 1688 being the petition of Richard Woolman to have his Patent upon Record altered & the order thereon which is referred to the Iustices of the Provincial Court Whereas the Board do understand that the sickness is gone & that the People have generally found great Benefit by the Cool Springs & that good Crops are likely to be made the Gentlemen present say the believe the same affords good occasion for a day of thanksgiving to be Set apart. Ordered that the Commissary General do cause his Records to be inspected to see what devises have been made Contrary to Law vizt to Superstitious uses or what Gifts & bequests p. 149 are not legally disposed of & return an accot of them to his Majestys Council at Law & so to do the same yearly Lib. H. D. September the 6th 1698 p. Maryland ss Know all men by these ptsents that we George Plater Esqr William Dent of Charles County & Jacob Moreland of St Maryes County gentn are holden and firmly bound unto his Excy ffrancis Nicholson his Matys Capt genll & Governr in Chiefe of his Province of Maryland in the full and lust Sume of one thousand pds of good & Lawfull money of England to be paid to the sd ffrancis Nicholson Esqr his Exrs Admrs or Assignes to the wch paymt well and truly to be made we bind our selves and either of us our and either of our heires Exrs and Admrs Iointly and Sevrally for the whole and in the whole
