[Naval Officers Bonds.] Know all men by these prsents that we John Bozmane of Somersett County gent William Round & Peter Dent gent are holden and firmly bound unto his Excy ffrancis Nicholson Esqr his Matys Capt genll and Govr in Chiefe of this Province in the full and Just suflie of one Thousand pounds of good and Lawful money of England to be payd to the sd ffrancis Nicholson Esq' his Exrs Admrs or Assignes to the which paymt well and truly to be made we bind our selves & either of us our & either of our heires Exrs & Admr Jointly & Sevrally for the whole & in the whole firmly by these prsents Witness our hands & seales the 2d day of 7br 1698 The Condition of the above written Obligation is such tht whereas his Excy ffrancis Nicholson Esqr Aforesd hath Corn issionated and Appointed the sd John Bozmane to be Navall off Pocomoke in Sumersett County within the sd Province by his Comission bearing Equall Date with these prsents now if the sd John Bozmane shall well and truly pforme the sd Office according to the Sevrall Acts of Parliamt in that case made and provided and shall Observe the directions Conteined in the Acts of Assembly in this Province relating to the Duty of Navall Officers And from time to time Save defend and keep harmless the s' ffrancis Nicholson Esqr from all Damages Loss and Charges that the sd ffrancis Nicholson shall Susteine att any time by reason of the sd Bozmanes non pformance of his sd Office so long as he shall enjoy the Same as is in the sd Severall Laws Enacted and Ordained Then this Obligacon to be Voyd & of none effect or else the same to be and remaine in full force and Virtue.
