have been, or shall be brought into all, or any of the Ports Lib. H. D. in Maryland or Districts therefore, with ffull Power and authority to you to doe, and perform, all and all manner of things to the sd Place of Agent belonging and appertaining, according to such directions and Instructions, as you shall from time to time, receive from us or any three or more of Us; And whereas we are Inform'd there are and hath been great concealmus and Embezilmts made & Comitted and tht allso no Accot hath been yet Return'd unto Us of any Prize Ships Goods or Merchandizes, wch hath been brought into any Ports or place in Maryland or its Districts, or in to any other place upon the Continent of America or any of the Islands thereunto beloning; We doe therefore hereby further Impower you the sd Peter Jenings, and such others as you shall think Necessary to Employ to Enquire after, Examine and find out, all matters and things transacted or that shall be transacted comitted or done touching the premises in the sd Colony of Maryland or its Districts, or in, or on any other place or places upon the Continent of America, or in any of the Islands there unto belonging, from the 19th of June 1689, for and during the time and Continuance of this our Com mission, and all our Officers & others concern'd are hereby Required to Assist, Produce, and Submit to Examination, all Books, Accots Papers and other vouchers, which relate to or shall be necessary for this Service. And for the better & more Effectuall Executing this our Commission, you are also Aided with a Commission out of his Mats high Court of Admiralty for the Examining upon Oath any person or persons you shall think fit, for the full Discovery of all ifrauds &ca as by the sd Commission, and Instructions doth more at large appear; Given under our hands and the Seal of our Office the 19th day of November 1696.
