Lib. x. out he must now shew it otherwise he will not have any bene fit thereby Mr Sly does not Say that he has any such thing His Excellency is pleased to tell Mr Sly that he having Said that he was not the Author or Inventor of the said Articles he required him to name the persons that did Invent & make them, Mr Sly is told that if he now remembers or can name any Persons to prove the Articles he shall have an Order for them to come up to the next Provincial Court to be held God willing the last Tuesday in August next His Excellency is pleased to ask the Board if they have any thing more to say to Mr Sly who do Say they Observe he will make no direct Answer to any Questions asked him & there fore do not think Necessary to ask him any further Questions The several Depositions of the persons summoned being taken before Major Iohn Hammond & Captain Richd Hill were read at the Board purporting the Associating of the said Mr Sly Mr Cood, Mr Mason & Mr Clark & the said Masons holding Correspondence & being in Compa with Mr Cood when the said Mason was high Sherriff of St Marys County & had a praecept to him Directed for the Apprehending him, grounded upon a presentmt of the Grand Iury of this Province whereon they had found a Bill against the said Cood for p. 76 Blasphemy and their Several Meetings & Cabals relating to the Govt & his Excellency the Governor thereof The said Depositions are referred for perusal to his Maj estys Council at Law & to advise whether it may be proper to remand the said Sly Back to the Custody of the Sheriff of St Marys County whereby he may the better be enabled to pro cure Bayle who is also to make Report what process is proper to be issued against Mr Mason Mr Clark & Mr Good Whereupon Mr Robt Gouldsborrough of his Majestys Coun cil at Law makes Report that it will be an Act of Favour in his Excellency & this honble Board to remand the said Sly into the Custody of the Sherriff of St Marys County whereby he will be better able to procure Bayle to deliver his Body but that he does not see any reason why the said Sly should have so much kindness shewn him & that Mr Sly may if he pleases remove his Body by writ of habeas Corpus which will be Granted him of Course & be in the same Capacity That as to Mr Robert Mason it is requisite that a Warrant from this Board be issued peremptorily Commanding the Sheriff of St Marys County to have the said Mason before his Excellency the Governor in order to his Examination to the end the evil Practices & designs of Mr Cood Mr Sly, Mr Clark & their Confederates may be detected & Defeated That Whereas Mr Philip Clark & Mr Iohn Good have
