New England, New York, Maryland, Virginia and all other Lib. H. D. places on the continent of America; also a Comission from the high Court of Admiralty to examine all persons relating to said affair, as well as my Lord Romney and Mr Glovers grant from the King and power from them; humbly desiring his Exncy would please to put a stop to all moneys reCd either by the said Mr Ienings or others, untill such time as he can have the opportunity of producing the said Comissions in person; This Board for answer say, that there have been severall Comissions here produced in relation to the afore mentioned matter; Vizt Mr Thomas Robinsons Letter of Attorney from my Lord Romney and Mr Glover, Dated 21th of August 1696, for putting in full execution (within this Province &ca) his Majtes Pattent unto them given for the part of all prize Shipps and Goods &ca Copy of which said Pattent wth the Letter of Attorney annext stands entred in the Councill Book of this his Majtes Province, together with a Comission under the Seale of the Admiralty to the sd Mr Robinson & others bearing the date the 17th of Septemr 1696 ffor putting the said Earle of Romney's Pattent &Ca in due execution. All produced and read at this Board the 7th of June 1697. Afterwards, Vizt The second of July; Peter Jenings Esqr produced a Comission to him given by the Honoble the principal Comissrs for prizes, bearing date the 19th day of Novemr 1696. To be their Agent in all matters p. 633 of that nature here, as also two distinct Comissions from under the Seale of the Admiralty; the one bearing date the seaventh and the other the 23d of Decemr 1696 with Interro gatories annext; Empowering him to put in force his other Comission Since which time, Vizt The 11th day of Ianry 1697/8. The Honoble Edward Randolph Esqr produced a Comission under the hands and Seale of the Honoble the Comissrs for prizes, dated the 3d of Iuly preceding constituting him Sur veyor General for Prizes in all the Colonyes & Provinces on the continent of America & Islands adjacent; as also their agent where no other persons are appointed; who likewise produced two severall Comissions under the Seale of the Admiralty bearing date 17th of Iune 1697. And directed to the said Esqr Randolph, Thomas Robinson & Iohn George Empowering them to examine into imbezilments of all prize Shipps and Goods in America &ca and to make Appraisments and dispose &ca All which considered; This Board don't think it advisable or fitt to cause any such stop to be putt as is requested by the said Mr George, but leave him to dispute the Authority of his Comissions with the other Gentlemen concern'd.
