       Severall persons Petitions for the Cryers place of the Pro

     vincial Court of this Province being preferred and considered,

     the same was thought fitt to be conferred on Iohn Stanley, in

     consideration of his performance of those things set forth in

     his Petition, wch follows in these words Vizt

       To his Exncy ffrancis Nicholson Esqr Capt Genll & Governr

     in Chief in and Over his Majtes Province of Maryland &ca

    

              The humble Petition of John Stanley.

     Sheweth

            That yor Petitioner being Zealously inclin'd to pro

     mote the interest of the ffree School to be built in the Town

     & Port of Annapolis (more especially induced thereto through

     the advantage he himselfe hath receiv'd, by a Charitable

     Education) does humbly Offer & propose; that whereas the

     Cryers place of the Provincial Court of this Province, is now

     become vacant by death of the party tht Officiated the same;
