ffebruary the 19th 1696/7. Read a Letter recd by his Exncy the Governr from Coll: Edmund Jenings his Mats Secryr of the Colony of Virga Dated the 24th of JanTY last past together with a Warrant inclosed Signed by his Sr Edmd Andros Govr of Virginia for the apprehending Coll: John Cood, prosecuted for Blasphemy and say'd to bc ffled from the hand3 of Ju3ticc into that Govcrmnt. Ordered that his Exncy Sr Edmund Andros be writ to, desiring he would please to send one of the sd Warrants to Each of the County's within his Governmt with directions and Ordrs to the Sherriff that apprehend him for to deliver him up to the next Justice of the Peace in this Govermnt Either on the Eastern or Western Shore, where he should be taken to the p. 461 End he may be proceeded agt according to Law and that withall it be Signifyed that (for his Mats Service) he would give Notice to all Masters of Ships within his Governmt that they prsume not to take on Board or Carry away the sd Coll: Cood, as also to write another Letter to the Honrble the Comodore for to Cause all the Ships under his Convoy to be Searcht lest he should be absconded and privately Carried away and so Escape unpunished for his Enormous Crime and his Maty lose the debt Claim'd from him, for which process has already issued.

to Sr Edmd Andros abt This day was Read in Councill here a Letter by Sending a me Recd: from Coll: Jenings Dated the 24th of Each of the Janry past together with a Warrant, under yor County's in EXC ys hand and Seal for apprehending Coll: John Cood, and upon Consideracon thereon had it is thought Expedient for his Mat5 Service that you would please to send one of the sd Warrants to the Sherriff of Each County within yor Governmt with directions and Orders to the Sherrifi that apprehends him for to deliver him up to the next Justice of Peace in this Governmt Either on the Eastern or Western Shore where he shall be taken, to the End he may be proceeded against according to Law, And
