D. directions & Instructions of the honble his Matys Comrs of the Customs thereupon and also observe and pursue all such other Instructions as he shall from time to time receive from the said Comrs of the Customs in England or from his Excy the Governr of this Province for the time being then this Obligation to be Voyd Otherwise in full force and Virtue Signed Sealed and Delivered William Bladen [Seal] in the prsence of Edward Dorsey [Seal] Thomas Laurence Charles Carroll [Seal] Mr Ino To all unto whom these presents shall come Georges Depu tation To Mr John George of Boston in the County of Suffolke Samuelwithin his Majesties Province of the Massachusets Houldsworth as Agent for to Bay in New England Merchant sendeth Greet-
prizes &c ing. Whereas the Principall Comissioners for Prizes in & by a Comission Given under their hands and the Seale of their Office the 11th day of May 1697. By virtue of the power and Authority to them given by his Majesty by Comission under the great Seale of England, have constituted & appointed the above named John George Agent for all Prizes that are, have been, or shall be brought into all or any of the Ports in Maryland and districts thereof, and in New England, New Yorke, Pensilvania and Virginia, with full power & authority to doe and performe all and all manner of things to the said place of Agent belonging and appertaining accord ing to such directions & Instructions as he shall from time to time rcccivcd from the sd Comissrs or any three or more of them &ca As in and by the said Cornission (an authentick Copy whereof is hereunto annexed) will more fully and at large appear. Now Know yee that I the said John George as Agent unto the sd Principal Comissioners for prizes, & pursuant to the authority by them unto me given have nominated appointed and deputed And by these presents do nominate appoint and depute Samuel Houldsworth Esq of the Province of Maryland to be my Lawfull Substitute & Deputy for all prizes that are have been or shall be brought into all or any of the Ports in the Province of Maryland & districts thereof Giving and here by granting unto him my said Substitute & Deputy as full large and ample power and Authority to do & performe all and every such act matter and thing in Maryland aforesd & dis tricts thereof, as I the sd John George might there personally do and performe by virtue of the aforementioned Commission & the Instructions unto me given by the principal Comiss ioners for prizes.
