          To all persons to whom these prsent shall come Greeting

         

                Charles    Know yee that having recd satisfaction concern-

                 Goodman &

                 ais Pass to ing Charles Goodman Edward Weaver, Edmund

                 New Yorke Teynton, & Cornelius Wilimore (the Bearers here

         

                 of) lately arrived from England in the Ship Maryland Mer

                 chant and from thence intended to go to New Yorke by land,

                 in Order to get on board his Majesties Frigot Forvy, Capt

                 Cullfford Commander there lately Arrived; two of whom I am

                 given to understand, do actually belong to the said Frigot, &

                 the other two were passingers, but by accident were all left

                 behind and forced to gett their passage in the Ship Maryland

                 Marchant aforementioned; Suffer therefore the said Charles

                 Goodman Edward Weaver, Edmund Teynton and Cornelius

                 Willmore to pass on their way to New Yorke aforesaid about

                 their lawfull occasions without any let hinderance or interrup

                 tion; Given at the Town and Port of Annapolis under my

                 hand and Seale this first day of March 1697/8 In the tenth

                 year of his Majesties Reign.

                 Bark Mair- Having notice from our Agent in Scotland that

                 maid, being an the Bark Mermaid (having a Mermaid in her

                 Illegall Trade

                         Stern) John Rodgers a Scotchman Master lately

                 sailed out of Leith Road with Scotch Linnen & other
