Present the Worpll Coll Thoms Holliday Just Mr Jno Hawkins Mr John Wight of Mr Robt Wade Gentmn Mr Robt Tylor Quor Mr Samll Magrooder Mr Thomas Spriggs ices By the Grand Iury represented as followeth.
We the Jurors for the body of Prince Georges County hav ing had it in charge from the Worshipfull Court to inquire and make report to this Court what measures would most conduce to his Majesties Honour & service and the Interest & safety of this Province to be now taken in relation to the forte at New Scotland and the defence and security of this Province and the good people there of upon the frontier Plantations against any Incursions of Indians. We do represent and desire that it may be humbly recornended to his Exncy our Governr that we the Iurors aforesaid do conceive it to be for his Majtys the Kings honor the Intrest and safety of this Countie and even the whole Province that the Garrison at the falls of Potomeck be maintained & supported as at present the same is enforted and that the same number of Rangers be kept out & main tained both at the Garrison, or fort and also at the frontier Plantations as are now quartered and posted there. We also are of Opinion it may be convenient and necessary that a Fort or Garrison, be placed on the hill above the New Forte, humbly
