           Lib. H. D. Upon Representation & advice in Councill. Ordered that

                 the Sherriffs who have any Publick Tobba to pay to the persons

                 keeping publick fferreys within this Province forbear to pay

                 them any Tobbo due upon that score, untill March next, where

                 of they are to take due notice at their perill.

                   His Exncy and Councill together with the Justices & Grand

                 Jury of the Provinciall Court and the other Gentlemen

                 appointed to meet this day, mett according to adjournment

                 and were called over.

                   Then was read the Return of the Comittee appointed for

                 Indian affairs as follows, Vizt

                   At a Comittee mett & held at the house of Mr Jno ffreeman

                 wthin, the Port of Annapolis by Ordt of his Exncy the Governr

                 and his Majtes Honoble Councill and by advice of the Honoured

                 the lustices & Grand Jury of the Provincial Court, the Com-

                 ittee for laying the Publick leavy and the Gentleman appointed

                 to go upon the Indian treaty to the Emperor of Piscattoway

                 in Virginia who were all mett together this 15th of Octobr 1697

                 in Ordr to consult about Indian affairs. The following Gentle

                 men being appointed of the said Comittee, Vizt
