Lib. H. D. to keep Garrison at Mr Ousleys Plantation in Stafford County or some where thereabouts convenient, whereby the Rangers on this side Potomock may easily have communication with them. This his said Exncy be desired to give Instructions to the Comandr in Chief of Stafford County and to the aforesaid Rangers to hold a frequent correspondence with the Honoble Coll John: Addison and the Rangers on this side; they hav ing already Instructions to do the like from hence thither. That a number of Men out of each Province be by consent appointed to go out in the Spring of the year to find out the mountain Indians that are said to be beyond the Piscattowayes, where they are now seated. That the Gentlemen and Capt Hanstilman appointed to go to the Indians at the head of the Bay by an Ordr of the last Assembly be put in mind thereof to see the said Ordr exe cuted and complyed with, understanding nothing has been done therein as yett; And that they acquaint the Shevanor Indians his Exncy never recd those presents said to be sent by Coll Herman. That a former Ordr about laying out the Land for the Choptanck Indians be renewed and complyed with, under standing that Major Smithson the Surveyor appointed had (through sickness) been the occasion of its not being yet done. His Exncy is pleased to say that the Nanticoke Indians are likewise desirous to have their land runn out, but that Coll Hutchins who is best knowing in that affair is not yet come. Ordered that a Cornittee be appointed to consult & consider of the foregoing severall proposalls and matters and to draw from thence such conclusions, by them to be putt in such method and forme as they shall think fitt to be laid before his EXnCY Sr Edmund Andros his MajtYs Governr of Virginia and the Piscattoway Indians; the approbation of all the Gentle men now mett being therein first had and obtain'd. Whereupon the following Gentlemen were nominated and appointed of the said Comittee Vizt The Honoble Sr Thomas Laurence Barontt Secry Coll Geo: Robotham, Thorns Tench Esqr and Coll John: Addison Members of his Majties Honoble Councill, Capt Phillip Hoskins, Mr John Polland Mr ffrancis: Jenckin and Mr Willm Hatton Iustices of the Provinciall Court W Thoms Sprigg Iunr Mr Ino Wattkins Capt Henry Hardy, Mr Thomas Brown, Mr Thomo Iones Mr Michl Holland, Mr Thomas Taylor, Mr John Haziewood Gent! of the Grand Jury.
