That if William Stermy the Carpinter comes he be shew'd the State House work and give his Opinion thereabout, pur suant to the late Ordr of Councill. His Exncy is pleased to give Order and Strict Charge to the honrble Coll: Henry Jowles Chancelor and Kenelm Cheseldyn Esq Commissary Gen” that they take Care not to break up their Courts untill all business is fully ffinished and that they admitt of noe Excuse of either side but such as shall Stand with Equity and good Conscience and that where the Attor neys are in the fault So that the Cause Cannot Come to Tryall such Cause be struck off, and that no future delays be Suffered. Ordered that the Commissary fforbear Receiving any pub- p. 547 lick Papers from Mr LLewellin relating to the Commissary's Office untill the sd LLewellin shall Come and deliver the same up before the Justices of the Provll Court upon Oath. Ordered that the Gentlemen of his Mats honrble Councill have Notice to meet his Exncy at the Port of Annapolis in Councill the next Thursday after the Begining of the Provll Court in October the Indians at the head of the Bay being then appointed to be there. And it being thought most for his Mass Service that what Appeals and Writts of Error lye before this Board to be tryed be then also made an End off; Ordered therefore that the Lawyers prepare themselves against that time and that the Sherriffs Serve this Ordr upon Such of his Mats honrble Councill and Provll Attorneys as inhabite in their respective Counties, without ffaile, who are hereby required to Conform themselves accordingly. Ordered that the Justices of the Severall Counties of this Province Return a list of the Constables Names and of the Overseers of the high ways in each County appointed by the ffirst day of the next provll Court and so for the future Annu ally and that the Vestrys in like manner Return lists of what Church wardens are appointed in Each parish, and that the County and Vestry Clerks Return Copy's of the Oaths the Severall Officers take and of all Bonds Given by the Sherriffs or others That the Justices Cause their Clerk to Return an abstract of the Record Books and Law Books belonging to each County as also an Accot what places they are kept in, and in what Ordr together with an Accot of the Court Houses, whether they be New or old, if New, whether the Same be all paid for. if old and want Repairing what it will Cost. And what part of the County the Same Stand in and if they have any land belonging to them; and that a like inquiry and Return be made about the County Prisons and that the Sherriffs Serve them Severally with this Ordr
