Lib. H. D. Piscattoway Indians therefore sent for Coll: Addison to know the Certainty, but could not have any writen Satisfaction therein, whereupon he writt a Letter to Majr Wm Dent to Send an Express to Capt Mason, Coll: ffitzhugh's and others to get a certain Accot how Matters were Copy whereof was produced and Read; with directions for the sd Coll: Addison or Majr Dents Coming hither to give a full Relation of Matters whom he expected next Week. Produced and Read a Letter by his Exncy rëcd: from Coll: Wm Pierce and Lieutent Coll: John Thompson ffield Officers of Caecill County Dated the 16th of this instant August giving an Accot of their having View'd the Publick powder, belong ing to that County Vizt two Barrells not full and a half barrell at Coll: Hermans and two Barrells at Majr Thompsons, but not full; all which is much decayed and of little Vallue, Signi fying that they Could sell 2: Barrells thereof, and perhaps more, but that they have no certain Accot what Coll: Herman had in his possession. Ordered that a Copy of the Accot of what Arms & Ammu nition &ca were sent to that County be writ out and sent to the sd Coll: Pierce, and Majr Thompson and that they dispose of the powder pursuant to the late Ordinance of Assembly but that they dont sell any thereof to the Indians. Read a Return made by the honrble James ffrisby Esq in a Letter writ to the Clerk of this Board Dated the Instant, in Relation to Nominating two persons, to Act in the Station of Navll Officer and a Justice of the provll Court of this Prov ince in the Room and Stead of Lieutent Coll: John Thompson dismissed (by Ordr of this Board) thereby Recornending and Nominating Mr Matthias Vanderheyden for Navll Officer and Mr John Moll Senr for a Justice of the Prov” Court; but they both being adjudged unqualified by the late Act of Parliamt for those Stations as being Aliens, it is therefore Ordered that the sd Esq ffrisby do Recommend and Nominate two other fit and Capable persons qualified by Law and make Return accordingly with all convenient Speed. His EXnCY is pleased to Say that upon this News of the Arrivall of Admirall Nevills Squadron in Virga and of the Noise about the Indians, he intends (God willing) to go him self into Virginia to know the certainty of matters either to Morrow or on Munday therefore is pleased to direct the honrble Sr Thomas Laurence Baront Secryr to goe to Baltemore County Court in Septembr in Order to meet the Severall persons there appointed to meet & to discourse them about the Complaints made against the Indians there and to Cause to be put in writing what they have to Say. That if Coll: Addison or Majr Dent come to Town next
