The thing was proposed to be Comitted in Mary land but he having Denied his Assistance Doth not know if the Negro kili'd were done by Esq Tom however tht action Caused both the Emperor & Pomunkey Indians to ffly to Virga tht the Emperr sate down there where now he is but the sd Pomunkeys soon Return'd to Maryland tht he Coming from Choptico about the time Esq Tom & his Gang Came over to hunt he was perswaded to Come with them to Virga that being so Come & in the Woods a little beyond my house Esqr Tom on a Suddain told him he would kill some English and since he had known his design, If he Refused to goe with him he would kill him as believing he design'd to betray him so tht p. 121 this Robin the Relater with Esq Tom & one Indian more Rann back from their Company & Esq Tom & the other Indian did the Mischeif & this Robin kept Sentry, that all the Rest of tht Company knew of the thing only the Deafe Indian and him they did not acquaint, Sr pardon the prolixity that Necessity Drawes Naratives under & Accept the Zeal of Yor most humble and Obedient Servant Geo: Brent

EXnCY at Annapolis you were pleased to Enquire concerning the Indians & of their behaviour in our County which by reason of my Remoteness from their walks and having for some time before bin in the Province of Pensil vania could give yor Exncy no accot of them but since my Return passing through the Body of the County have received Severall Complaints of their abuses and Insolent behaviour to the inhabitants which is now become Superlative & not toler ably to be endured from them & the people in Genll under apprehensions of Some Mischeif intended by them more
