    Capt Bright. The last Week there was a man Come out of

    well's Lre

    his Exncy aht Virga wch told me tht he believed there would be

    Indians &ca more Murder done this year, I told him I thought

   

    not, he said he believed there would, and I asked him his

    Reason soe, he told me of a Peace, that was Concluded betwixt

    our Indians and the mountain Indians by giving & Receiving

    of a Pipe, he tould me that they were Resolv'd for a Warr and

    the Warr Capt of the Senecors ask'd our Emperor wch side he

    would begin at, he reply'd and said it was all a Case to him

    for one side drove him from his home and the other side has

    Robed him of his Corn and goods; and since Received the

    inclosed Letter from Coll: Addison no more to trouble yor

    Exncy at this prsent      Yor most humble Servt

    Coll: Addisons This Evening Came John the ffrenchman from

    Lre to Cap.

    Brightwell abt Virga & Saith tht John Peeke one of Capt Masons

    Indians Troop came up this afternoon and gives Accot

   

    that a Woman and three Children at the head of Acquio Creek P 76

    was on Sunday Morning last Murdered by Indians; I send you

   

    this Notice tht yo may keep the Stricter Eye abroad, I am

    your ffriend,

      Let me have yor Answer        John Addison

    what time you Receive this voll

   

   

            Port of Annapolis July 16th 1697.

           Betwixt 8 & 9 a Clock in the morning
